Breakfast in bed anyone? I mean what could be more romantic on Valentine’s Day?!  I think it’s probably the only day of the year that I would attempt to serve my sweet darling breakfast in bed, mainly because it’s somewhat impractical with the dogs barking and the kids wanting to snuggle.  I mean this is not the Four Seasons, but it gives me pleasure to do something special and I do love cooking.  Being unconventional once in a while is ok and as long as my efforts are appreciated, well doesn’t that make for a nice Valentine’s Day?!  What do you think? Would you make breakfast-in-bed for your main squeeze?

Since love is in the air, I have compiled a few of my favorite recipes from local celebrity chefs, bloggers and people I adore. Go ahead and indulge – the key is moderation!  Click on the links for the recipe.

Ok, so we all know Chopped (the award wining show on the Food Network)?! Silvia Baldini, a local New Canaanite, whose Italian charm exudes in her cooking and baking, became the first woman chef to win Chopped.  She is an accomplished chef, with frequent TV appearances and a writer on her blog Silvia’s Trays.  The image above of her Banana Bread with Bourbon Raisins and Walnuts does not only look delicious, but even I – as a non-baker – can easily and successfully attempt it.

How adorable are these Mini Heart Pancakes? They are super easy to make, yet they make such an impression. (via Design Loves Detail)
