This past Friday I attended the kickoff party for the Katonah Museum of Art Spring Gala! Since I am co-chairing the event and part of my commitment is a runway show production, the kick-off party was a way to generate buzz. In attendance, we had local media coverage from Bedford Magazine and some high-profile donors, so clearly I had to wear something that would make an impression.
So what to wear? I had a few ideas picked out, but what I really wanted was something simple, yet memorable. I purchased this little red dress by FifteenTwenty a couple of weeks ago from Scout and Molly’s….a short shift, with a modern asymmetrical silhouette that can really stand on its own and won’t break the bank. Red exudes power, energy and excitement…it makes peoples’ hearts beat faster. Naturally, it was the perfect fit!
Keeping with the sleek silhouette, I chose a pair of black ankle strap heels from Jimmy Choo and added a little touch of black and gold in my jewelry. This necklace was a present from a friend and while I do not know the brand, it is very cool indeed. It’s made of multiple strands of thin ribbon and gold springs.
With my mother at the party. The co-chair and my client, Heather Durst, is in the blue jumpsuit. It was a fabulous evening and I felt perfect in my rouge shift, while Heather commanded the room with her navy ensemble. Translation: Strong Team, Chic Attire!
