I must admit when I bought my first pair of Stuart Weitzman’s 50/50 boot 5 years ago I was scared that I was following a trend that would soon be gone. The boot is still one of the hottest selling items and remains one of my favorite go to accessories. It can really make an outfit stand out. When you first try it on it seems a little vampish, but depending on how you style it, the boot can be very chic and edgy!
There are many options of over-the-knee boots. I love the flat heel, because it is more versatile. The suede although pretentious, has a little more color depth so it can look more elegant. The leather is obviously more durable, but can have a more casual and edgier look. They come in several color options and I think I might just add the suede navy 50/50 to my Christmas list.
I wanted to give you the option of wearing your over-the-knee boots looking both elegant and chic. Here are some options that can work for a festive Thanksgiving and beyond.
Adding a pop of color can always make an outfit stand out. Particularly this autumnal combination of pumpkin orange and maple red. The pencil skirt is knee high and I paired it with a thin black crew-neck and a vintage cropped fur jacket. This is such a great Thanksgiving outfit.
For a more relaxed gathering or perhaps a dinner date, leggings with a neutral sweater is always luxuriously chic. Pair it with a cropped winter jacket and you’re ready to go.
Try mixing black and white. Wearing the same boot and pairing it with a mini skirt, a relaxed white shirt, a cropped tuxedo jacket and finishing it wth a black-bow tie is just the right amount of edgy.
This Misoni dress is very loud, but I do love it so much. I often wear it in the summer, but with these colors I can easily translate it into other season. Paired with my favorite boots gives the look a polished and sophisticated feel. You will stand out, but in a good way.
