At first, I thought it would be crass to post a blog today about anything other than what has happened in Paris this past Friday, but then I realized that to be victorious in the aftermath of the horrid events, we have to continue living and let the cowardly event remain just that. It is not to say that I am not affected. We all are, if you are human! I mourn the hearts of the poor souls lost, but Paris is and will remain the city of lights and inspiration for many. So I will celebrate my Parisian influence of fashion and continue with my post today.
Gone are the days when white jeans must be stored after Labor Day. With global warming and the unpredictable weather we have been subject to, we have adapted to a new fashion standard. Fashion is mercurial. I mean do you guys remember the 80’s? Some trends are better left in the past. Like the selfie stick. Can we all agree that it is by far the silliest invention ever?
White jeans are often associated with warm weather and generally that is true. However, paired with complimenting and weather appropriate pieces, it can give your outfit that chic and cozy look to pull you through the winter months. So leave your whites out!
Keep it neutral
Paring white jeans with neutral tones really gives your outfit that luxurious winter feel. Use chunky knits or in this case an oversized turtleneck or a fur vest. You can make your look more sophisticated with a heel and why not a little leopard print. Or you can go casual with a flat winter boot.
Add a pop of color
Need something for that casual but chic holiday party? Grab your slim fitting cropped white jeans and pair them with a red cashmere sweater finished with a black pump for a perfectly fresh and sophisticated look.
Make it mod with black
How about an edgier look? Go with black. There is something so chic and cool about black and white. You can do a more casual look with a ripped version of your whites, paired with a softer black cropped top, grey booties and a hat. Or opt for a more striking version, with your slim whites, a white tuxedo shirt and black tuxedo blazer, accessorized with flat black booties and a black bag.
