If your kids are like my kids, chances are they outgrow their shoes within a year, which of course becomes an expensive and tedious task as they begin to have their own style. Here are some of my favorite Fall and Winter kids shoes. I usually buy my children’s shoes online, but if you need a great place with infinite options, try Little Eric’s in Greenwich. Have fun browsing!

1. Fashion Boot: Just as the title suggests, these are like a version of mommy or daddy. They are not not water proof, but some are water resistant. Kids can wear them on cold days, slushy mornings, but not through a full snow blizzard. The Italian brands (Priming and Naturino) are incredible durable and very comfortable, but have a higher price tag. If you have more than one child, it’s worth the investment as they can be passed down. I also featured Boden, Stuart Weitzman, Zara and a few other brands.

2. Warm Boots: I have never really been a fan of Uggs. They are bulky, uncomfortable and offer very little foot support. Oh, and don’t even think of wearing them in the snow or rain! Instead I go for a really cool looking Sorel snow boot with a little faux fur trim. You can’t beat the quality and you don’t feel bad about paying for it. I’ve also included other furry options for those days where kids want to be warm, but there isn’t any snow on the ground.

3. Sneakers: I wanted to opt for comfort and style, but the sneakers also needed to be practical. These options can be worn on the weekends, to school and also to tennis. Usually in the Fall/Winter season I buy a high-top…covers the ankle a bit on those cold days and gives extra support in sports. Here are both options.

4. Fancy shoes: Holidays are around the corner! As are birthday parties, events and special occasions. Kids need something with a little flare. For Fall I usually buy a ballet flat, t-bar flat and for boys, maybe a suede oxford. If it’s too cold outside to wear shoes, go ahead and use one of the fashion boots above.

5. Slippers: Nothing feels nicer getting out of bed in the Winter then slipping your feet into your favorite pair of cozy slippers. That goes along with your favorite cozy pajamas….more on that later. So don’t forget slippers! Kids love them and they make a great gift!
