My friends and clients have been inquiring about the transition from those warm Indian summer afternoons into the cooler Fall evenings. How to phase out the bright palette but keep the white jeans? How to begin wearing your darker tones? How to showcase your summer skirts into Fall? How to dress up your boyfriend jean for a girls night out?

Ladies, here are few options from my wardrobe! I advise my clients to always shop their closet first!

Wearing white jeans is perfectly fine after Labor Day! I wear my whites into winter and I combine them with chunky knits, fur vests and booties…they are seasonless.

Take this white jeans from J Brand…I adore them! Creating a chic and a casual look, I wore the same shirt and jeans, but changed the shoes and handbag. To give your outfit a Fall feel, add a warm dark hue (such as green, mustard or burgundy) to your top and go with a little black accent as I did in the shoe or handbag . You can always throw on your favorite blazer. I would choose either a taupe boy blazer or a short cropped tuxedo style blazer for these outfits.

I also wanted to bring out my darker jeans. I’ve missed them! I bought these at Toggs in New Canaan at the end of winter and I love the fit. I paired them with a “Peter Pan collar” black top from Zara and a slingback taupe snake pump for an evening feminine look.

For a more casual Saturday afternoon attire, I opted for this super comfy cotton shirt in a light blue. Added a silver belt and one of my favorite espadrilles. Who’s ready for lunch?

What about my boyfriend jeans? I’ve had these from the Gap for three years and I love their versatility. Not to mention, they’re forgiving on those “special” days! I dressed them up with super sexy heels from LK Bennet, added a red belt for a little vavavoom and a cropped top from my previous Marlena Maree collection. Screams sexy chic!

To walk Moby around town and do some shopping, I opted for a camo tee from Majestic, a studded belt and my bronze sneakers.

I also wanted to show you that you can still wear your skirts. Choose Fall color tones and dress them up or down. Here I’m wearing a brown midi skirt. It has a lot of volume, but it’s so pretty and elegant. I paired it with a mustard top from Zara, a pair of leopard pumps from LK Bennet and a blush Jill Sanders bag.

Meeting your friend for coffee? Find a teeshirt that has a little something (maybe a print, maybe sequence) and tone it down with a flat. I added a headband for a little accessory.
